GJC Talent Performing Arts Center now holds classes for adult students as well as youth. In
expanding our cirriculum, GJC has hired working professional actors Mark Nash and Jim Dougherty
as our instructors. These two instructors will work with our youth and adult age groups to develop skills
for both stage and screen, and help develop our actor's understand of both the craft and the business
of acting.
Classes are currently held on Monday and Tuesday nights from 7-8:30
Monday class is a beginner level class designed to build a basic foundation in a fun atmosphere.
Tuesday class is designed for the serious actor who's goals are to build and hone their craft, and work
in the industry. (may require an audition for enrollment) This class is also working toward an LA trip.

GJC Instructors
Mark Nash
Mark is originally from the Appalachia (VA) where he spent the first 21 years of his life. He relocated to
Tampa Bay, FL where he resided for fourteen years. He got involved in local theatre and studied
constantly in numerous acting classes and seminars learning the craft of acting. He went on to study
his craft in college, as well as being classically trained (Stanislavsky and Meisner) & Improv at Second
City Chicago. Mark got involved with some local film makers in Florida and was introduced to the
Florida Motion Picture & Television Association, where he ended up on the Board of Directors for
several years.
After achieving an extensive resume in Film, Television, Stage, & Production, Mark moved to
Hollywood, CA. Since then, Mark has built a solid reputation as an accomplished film & television
actor and has worked along side many Hollywood greats. Mark is now in the Midwest continuing to
entertain.
Jim Dougherty
Jim has over 30 years of experience as a stage actor and director, and several years in independent
film as an actor, director, and stunt coordinator. He studied theatre at Indiana University with a focus
on acting and directing and has performed in drama, musical, comedy, and mystery productions. He
spent several years in Chicago working for the Victory Gardens Theatre, and was featured in
Chicago's Stagebill as a new breed of fight coordinator for the stage because of his training with the
Chicago Stunt Team.
Jim's experience on both stage and screen and as both an actor and director bring a unique
perspective to the craft. This class will challenge stage actors with on camera development and on
camera actors with the broader needs for the stage, all while working to develop the actor's skills with
character work, script breakdown and relationship communication.
FIRST CLASS IS FREE
Monthly fee:
Adults: 50.00 for one night a week, 75 for 2.
Kids under 18: 75.00 for one class, 100 for 2
