On Saturday, July 20, the WriteStuff Writers and The Center for Performing Arts in Carmel are teaming up for Across the Arts, a one-of-a-kind event transforming the Palladium into a “Writer’s Studio” for a day of literary fun for those who love to read books, magazines, newspapers; enjoy movies or want to learn more about connecting with social media or publishing. This is a day to enjoy up-close-and-personal conversations with some of Indiana’s finest writers across the writing and publishing spectrum.

Award-winning, attention-grabbing, awe-inspiring Across the Arts guests will include: Pulitzer Prize finalist and esteemed biographer Michael Shelden (Simon & Schuster); Academy Award winning screenwriter Angelo Pizzo; iconic novelist and screenwriter Dan Wakefield; fiction author and noted cellist Edward Kelsey-Moore (Knopf)Rebecca Dotlich, (Harper Collins/Knopf), poet and children's picture book author; and Multiple Emmy-winning documentarian Michael Husain. Additional presenters include: Ann-Craig Cinnamon, author of Walking Naked in Tehran and Matthew Tully, author of Searching for Hope, Indiana University Press. Join Indy columnists: Cathy Kightlinger, Talk of Our Town; Jolene Katzenburger, Food Reporter & Restaurant reviewer, and T.J.Banes, special features. Travis DiNicola, Executive Director, Indy Reads Books is also onboard among others who will share the stage. Publishers include: Saturday Evening Post, Indiana University Press, Dog Ear Publishing, Indianapolis Monthly and Towne Posts.

Event Moderators include: Debbie Knox, WISH-TV news anchor; Andy Murphy, WriteStuff Founder, author/literary agent; Amanda Heckart, Editor, Indianapolis Monthly Magazine; Susanne McAlister, Full Circle Host; Kelly Vaughn, Channel 40 TV Host and Amber Strong, Host/ Reporter, Real Scene TV.

The event, which goes from NOON to 6 p.m. will be divided into two sessions including panels with Indiana authors, publishers, columnists, magazine editors, social media experts, filmmakers and film festival executives, with plenty of time for audience Q&A. And audience members will have the opportunity to win fabulous luxury prizes while being treated to the laugh-inducing game show Wait, Wait, Do Tell Me! hosted by humorist Dick Wolfsie, author, news personality at WISH TV!

Dog Ear Publishing will host a 30-minute educational presentation for those attendees interested in learning about the current state of the publishing industry.

Across the Arts will cap off with an After the Event VIP wine and cheese party followed by a special movie presentation hosted by the prestigious Heartland Film Festival/Heartland Truly Moving Pictures.
