NOBLESVILLE - INDIANA, August 12 – Karmic Courage, the film production company that brought you the multi-award-winning “First They Came for…” and the upcoming sensation “Leah Not Leia,” is providing four and eight week intensive, hands-on filmmaking classes starting this fall.
CLASSES
Registration is now open for the 8 week Screenwriting intensive. Upcoming classes will be; Financing for Indie Film, Budgeting/Scheduling, and Pre-Production for Indie Film.
SCREENWRITING INTENSIVE – 8 week class
Students will receive one-to-one interaction on how to have your script pass a Hollywood Reader. The class will cover: what a script should look like, the elements of a screenplay, screenwriting software demos, character arc workshops, and discussions and dissections of how theme is woven into a screenplay. Participants will also discuss how to develop exciting central conflicts that keep the reader engaged, subplots that keep the action moving forward, how to set the right tone, and what does and does not belong in Acts 1, 2, and 3. Featured lessons will include dialogue workshops where professional actors read your dialogue to see if it rings true. There will be viewing assignments, in class exercises, demonstrations and comparisons to existing films. At the end of this class you’ll have the tools necessary to complete a screenplay to submit to agents, producers, or even produce and direct yourself.

INSTRUCTORS
Kate Chaplin was named one of the "most talented writers around today" by the Writer's Page, Chaplin is a multi-award-winning film maker whose projects have appeared on MTV, local television, film festivals, in print and online. Chaplin works on many film productions as writer, director, producer or Script Supervisor.
Veronica Diaz is a recent transplant to the Indianapolis film scene. Diaz brings with her education and knowledge from both Miami and Los Angeles. Previous employment for Fox Atomic and the A-List agency, Paradigm, gives her a management eye for both Independent and Studio Productions. Diaz works on film productions as writer, director, producer, or Production Manager.
