
(Anderson, IN) Henry Thomas (E.T., Fire in the Sky, Suicide Kings) stars as Hank Williams in The Last Ride, which will be featured in the evening block of films playing at the Homegrown Hoosier Film Festival on September 24 at the Paramount Theatre Centre in Anderson. The Last Ride, a film about the final days of Hank Williams, was co-produced and scored by Benjy Gaither of Anderson. In addition to Henry Thomas, the film also features Jessee James (The Fly Boys, Jumper), as well as Fred Thompson (Law and Order) and Kaley Cuoco (The Big Bang Theory). The Last Ride will screen at 5:30 pm. Emmy nominee Margo Martindale (Justified, Secretariat, Million Dollar Baby) stars in Zack Parker's Scalene, which was shot in Richmond, Indiana and surrounding areas. Scalene is a perceptual thriller told from three points of view, revolving around the rape of a female college student by a mentally handicapped man, as well as his mother's subsequent revenge after his incarceration. Also starring Hannah Hall (Forrest Gump, Halloween) and Adam Scarimbolo (A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints), the film features several Indiana actors and crew. Scalene will screen at 7:40 pm.
The daylong festival event will begin at 10 am and will run until midnight. Morning films include Making a Commercial: The Irvington Way (a documentary short about the making of a commercial for a prep school), Silence of the Belle (from Evansville), One Small Step (a student film about the dreams of a young man to become an astronaut), and The Tite Ride (from WNDY, featuring the restoration of a Jaguar). The midday lineup will begin at 11:45 am and will feature short films and documentaries from around Indiana, including Creed of Gold, which features many Indiana locations and cast.
Other films in the afternoon block include Obsolescence (by Jasper filmmaker Jakob Bilinski), The Gunness Mystery (a documentary exposing the story of LaPort's infamous female serial killer), as well as the premiere of the rockumentary Nova Rex: Ain’t Easy Being Cheesy. The late show will feature another Evansville film about the public's obsession with reality shows, appropriately titled Reality.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online through the Paramount Theatre website (www.andersonparamount.org/) or at the box office (765-642-1234), located at 1124 Meridian Plaza in Anderson. Tickets may be purchased for individual blocks or as an all day pass. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the historic Paramount Theatre Centre and Ballroom.
