(Anderson, IN) The Homegrown Hoosier Film Festival is the new name for the former Homegrown Hollywood Film Festival. As the result of a revamped festival mission, the name change was made in order to include and honor all filmmakers whose films have strong Indiana ties.

In January, the festival screened films with specific ties to Anderson and in doing so garnered support from many of the local Indiana based filmmakers. “It was a natural progression to go from a very specific local community to a larger base. There are a lot of wonderful films being made in Indiana on relatively low budgets both as hobbies and on a highly professional level with modest budgets that are creating jobs for Hoosiers. We want people to have a place to see and celebrate those films,” says festival director Jim Dougherty.

Anderson's historic Paramount Theatre Centre and Ballroom will continue to host the festival and be the beneficiary of the festival's proceeds.

Hoosier filmmakers can submit their films to the festival for consideration. The film entry deadline is August 15th. The entry form, as well as festival rules and screening license agreement, can be found at http://www.homegrownhoosierfilmfestival.com/.

The festival is scheduled for Saturday, September 24, 2011. Tickets prices will be between 7 and 25 dollars and will be available at the Paramount Theatre by calling 765-642-1234. http://www.andersonparamount.org/

All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the historic Paramount Theatre Centre and Ballroom.
