Synopsis: Mackenzie Miller is twenty-five years old, beautiful and successful. She is in search of her Mr. Right, and wants to marry and start a family before she hits 30. However, she feels that may never happen, because of a promise she made! That promise was made to her dying grandmother, and it was that she would move in with her grandfather to care for him, to prevent him from having to go into a nursing home. Though Mackenzie loves him more than anything, Grandpa is hell bent on keeping Mackenzie single. This means he must jeopardize every chance she has with men, by pulling some ridiculous stunts to scare them all off!

CAST NEEDED
George Franklin - Looking for a white male, senior actor preferably between
70-75 years old, as the character is seventy-five. This actor needs to be able to be very funny! This actor is the main star of the film and should be full of energy and spunk, and love to make those around him laugh! Preferably have a "sweet" face and also be able to get loud when the script calls for it. Most importantly, this actor needs to have a great memory so he can recite his lines with little complication.
Mackenzie Miller - Looking for a beautiful, slim, blonde actress, age 25 year old white female She should be able to memorize lines with little difficulty. This character is a T.V. anchorwoman, so the actress playing her will dress professionally. In other words, the applicant should have resources to a very nice wardrobe of her own. (Unfortunately, our budget is not able to cover these expenses). This actress should be comfortable working with a co-star (Grandpa) who is approximately 75 years old, with no problem. This character is very sweet, so actress should mirror that.
9 year old little boy in the park - Looking for an adorable white male, approximately eight to ten years old who can be very believable and can make himself cry on cue! This is very important!! Must be able to cry for the camera and remember his lines. This scene is one of only about three dramatic scenes in the entire film, so it is crucial that this young actor be believable. We want the audience to want to cradle him and comfort him after he speaks. His performance should also drive the audience to tears and give them goose bumps!
Three (3) attractive white males in their mid to late 20's to play characters who will "date" Mackenzie one time each. Each of these actors would be needed only one day to get their scenes filmed. While they are not big scenes, they are all important, and each will have the opportunity to interact with the characters of Mackenzie and Grandpa. (There are actually seven dates for Mackenzie, but four of these roles have already been cast.) Character names: TBA. These actors can either be blondes or brunettes. They need to be attractive and athletic though.
Attractive, white female sitting in the restaurant - One scene only. This actress will speak dialogue one time (like three lines). Prefer a 40 - something actress.
Three (3) males who will play: (1) Woman's date in the restaurant (2) a mailman, and (3) waiter in the restaurant. None of these roles will have speaking parts, but will just be on camera, very briefly. All ages encouraged to apply.
A homeless man - this can be any man, any age. This is one scene, in an alley where leading lady spots homeless man and offers him some food. This actor will speak two lines.
Mr. Stewart - Looking for an older, distinguished gentleman, maybe in his 50's who can play "grouchy" and a little arrogant. Mr. Stewart is Mackenzie's boss at the television station. This actor will dress in a suit and tie (you supply). While Mr. Stewart has just one scene, it is a biggie, where he carries on a telephone conversation (16 dialogues) with not only Grandpa, but also Mackenzie.
*Please remember this entire project is based upon VOLUNTEERS lending their talents to a new, indie producer, out of your love for filmmaking and building your resume. We have no budget, so unfortunately there is no pay and no putting cast members up in hotels. We will feed you while you are here. Ideally, we would wait until we have a budget to make movies, but we are new and eager to break into the business, so that means we have to work with what we have and try our best to make a fabulous film, with a fabulous cast and crew and break down the doors of Hollywood. It is for this reason we ask you to carefully consider your own location before you jump into submitting to us. We do not want anyone putting un-necessary financial burdens on themselves with travel or accommodations. Indianapolis actors are encouraged to apply, because you are fairly close to us.
*Please be sure to place "This Promise I Made" in the subject line when making contact.
*I will accept auditions via You Tube or you can mail them to me.
Filming is expected to begin first week of April and should last approximately 21 days. Thank you very much!
If you feel you have what it takes to work with us, if you feel you have the love of filmmaking and determination to be part of a winning team, then we want to hear from you! Please contact me ASAP.
