We are casting for these roles:
DAWN, Caucasian Female, 45-55: Dawn is Em’s mother. Her oldest son recently died, and she and Em are distant following their loss. She has raised Em entirely on her own, and homeschooled him. Dawn has the most emotionally demanding role in the film, as she is visibly distraught in many of her scenes.
TERRY, Primary Supporting, Male, 45-60: Terry is the lead in an investigation of a string of obscure deaths. During the investigation, he and his partner, Al, clash with the most recent victim's family (Dawn and Em) in their attempt to uncover information/solve the case. Terry isn’t one’s typical hot-headed investigative lead, but he has a bitter, abrasive personality, and seldom—if ever—shows any sympathy for the victims’ families’ losses.
AL, Primary Supporting, Male, 40s: Al is Terry’s stoic investigative partner. He is noticeably younger than Terry and decidedly more sensitive, though he rarely supplements Terry’s lead with his own opinions.
OLD MAN, Secondary Supporting, 50s: Old Man is the father of a recent victim of the mysterious death suffered by Em’s brother. He is a private and relatively quiet man, though he has a commanding presence and voice. He also bears a secret whose revelation plays a pivotal role in the story’s climax.
PORTER, Secondary Supporting, Male, 18-25: Porter is an eccentric young man who approaches Em with disturbing theories regarding Em’s brother’s death and the men investigating it.
Note: There are no ethnic preferences for any characters unless otherwise specified.
